Bluebird Pediatric Therapy Services, Inc. is seeking a part-time pediatric PT to join our team. We currently provide occupational therapy and speech therapy services to children with disabilities and are looking to begin a physical therapy program within our clinic. Pediatric Physical Therapy Job Description
A Physical Therapist provides physical therapy evaluation, treatment and patient care according to state, professional and federal regulations and guidelines. In addition, the position requires:
– Effective communication skills for working with clients, families, caregivers, and staff.
-The provision of comprehensive evaluations, individualized treatment services, consistent consultation and feedback to the parents and communication with treatment team.
-Planning, organizing, conducting treatment sessions and selecting activities that are client centered and provide the client with the “just right challenge” based upon their cognitive, social, emotional and physical capabilities
-Providing home programs and recommending changes to the clients routine, environment and daily life skills that will benefit the client and family
-Providing training and supervision to physical therapy students, assistants and volunteers with the appropriate supervision required by law
-Completion and Maintenance of necessary documentation & records
-Effective Time Management
-Maintaining confidentiality of clients personal health information at all times for the purpose of protection of the client and their family
-Participating in meetings, workshops and seminars for purpose of gathering information and furthering personal education with relation to pediatric physical therapy
Other Duties include:
-Maintaining daily safety and basic cleanliness of treatment room, treatment equipment/supplies and other areas of the clinic used by practitioner
Qualifications Requirements:
-Current Infant/Child CPR Certification
-Current Physical Therapist License in the state of Alabama
-Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Program
-Desire Someone with 2-3 years of experience & knowledge in Pediatrics and the Desire to Work with Children
-Desire Someone who is capable of working in a fast paced environment without becoming overwhelmed and with enjoyment of the fast pace
-Desire a self-starter, as this person will assist in beginning the physical therapy program within our clinic
